Zhivago Duncan: New works

Zhivago started working with ceramics when he moved to Mexico. He currently produces large ceramic objects – oscillating between vase, urn, amphora and jug – with a strong formal reference to some clear, reduced form of archetype combined with bold ornamental naturalness and a seductive, lustrous glaze. Partly planned, partly random surface fractures resulting from his firing technique merge with Zhivago’s anarchic post pop imagery worlds: burned jewels. (as)
